Network Consultancy
Most organisations don’t seek network consultancy because they’re interested in networks. More often, they’ve been presented with a recommendation, proposal, or investment decision
that doesn’t quite sit right and they’re looking for an independent second opinion.
Perhaps you’ve been advised that your network requires a complete refresh. Maybe guest complaints are increasing, applications are performing poorly, support costs are rising, or different
suppliers are recommending entirely different solutions. In other cases, significant investments have already been made, yet the problems they were intended to solve still remain.
Networks are ecosystems, and changes made in one area can have unintended consequences elsewhere. It is not uncommon to see organisations replace wireless infrastructure when the
issue lies within the switching environment, invest in new internet connectivity when the bottleneck is elsewhere, or continue upgrading individual components without ever addressing the
root cause. As a result, considerable sums can be spent solving symptoms rather than solving the actual problem.
Our Network Consultancy services provide independent expertise, practical guidance, and trusted assurance. We assess the environment as a whole, helping organisations understand not
just what is happening, but why. Performance, resilience, security, capacity, segmentation, scalability, and operational suitability are all considered as part of the review.
Our recommendations are based on what we genuinely believe is right for the environment, regardless of whether that leads to a wider engagement with us. In some cases, that may mean
recommending significant changes. In others, it may simply mean confirming that your existing solution is fit for purpose, or that the advice and recommendations you’ve already received
are valid and necessary.
Either way, you’ll receive honest, transparent guidance from experienced hospitality technology specialists with no hidden agenda. Our role is to help you understand your options, the risks,
and the likely outcomes, so you can make informed decisions with confidence
ELV Consultancy
ELV (Extra Low Voltage) is the collective term used to describe many of the technologies that sit alongside the network and support the wider operation of a hospitality environment. This can
include CCTV, access control, digital signage, IPTV, audio visual systems, telephony, guest technologies, environmental monitoring, smart building solutions, and the infrastructure that
connects them together.
Unlike traditional electrical infrastructure, these systems are often delivered by multiple specialist suppliers and can fall between the responsibilities of architects, consultants, contractors, and
IT teams. As a result, they are frequently overlooked or only considered late in the project lifecycle. This can create integration challenges, unexpected costs, and operational compromises
that may not become apparent until the technology is being commissioned.
In some cases, this results in expensive rework, with newly completed areas needing to be revisited to accommodate technologies that were not properly considered during the design phase.
In others, organisations are left accepting operational compromises that impact service delivery, usability, or future scalability because correcting them after completion is simply too costly or
disruptive.
Our ELV Consultancy services help organisations evaluate options, coordinate technologies, and create integrated environments that support both operational and commercial objectives.
Whether reviewing plans for a new development, refurbishment, or technology refresh, we provide independent advice focused on long-term outcomes rather than individual products or
vendors.
Hospitality Technology Reviews
Technology environments are ecosystems. Individual systems rarely operate in isolation and the performance of the wider environment is influenced as much by how technologies interact as the
technologies themselves. Upgrading individual components can often address a symptom whilst leaving the root cause untouched.
Over time, systems are upgraded, suppliers change, new services are introduced, and operational requirements evolve. Whilst individual technologies may continue to function as expected, it can
become increasingly difficult to understand how effectively the wider environment is performing. It’s not uncommon to find that each system works perfectly well in isolation, whilst the overall
environment has become more complex, more expensive to maintain, harder to support, and increasingly difficult to evolve.
Unlike a Network Review, which focuses specifically on network architecture, a Hospitality Technology Review takes a wider view of the technologies supporting the operation. This can include
networking, guest Wi-Fi, CCTV, access control, IPTV, communications, monitoring systems, guest technologies, operational platforms, and the way these systems interact with one another.
Many organisations engage us when the technology environment has evolved over time without a clear roadmap. Systems have been added, upgraded, replaced, or inherited from previous suppliers,
making it increasingly difficult to understand how effectively the overall estate is performing. Often there is no single major fault, but a growing feeling that the environment has become more
complex, harder to support, and increasingly expensive to maintain.
A Hospitality Technology Review provides an independent assessment of the technologies supporting your operation. We evaluate performance, resilience, supportability, security, guest impact,
operational suitability, and future requirements, identifying both risks and opportunities for improvement.
The outcome isn’t always a recommendation to invest. In many cases, our findings confirm that existing systems are performing as expected, that only targeted improvements are required, or that the
advice and recommendations you’ve already received are valid and necessary. In others, relatively small changes to configuration, architecture, or the way technologies interact can deliver significant
improvements without the need for wholesale replacement.
Either way, decisions are based on evidence rather than assumptions, helping organisations move forward with clarity and confidence.
Estate Standardisation
Growth rarely follows a perfectly planned path. Sites are acquired at different times, refurbishments are delivered by different contractors, suppliers change, and technology decisions are often made to
solve an immediate problem rather than support a long-term strategy.
Over time, this can result in an estate where every site looks slightly different. Different Wi-Fi platforms, different support arrangements, different configurations, different user experiences, and varying
costs from one location to another. Whilst each site may function independently, maintaining consistency across the wider estate becomes increasingly difficult.
The challenge is not simply operational. Inconsistent technologies and processes can increase support overhead, complicate staff training, slow down new site openings, make reporting more difficult,
and reduce purchasing leverage when engaging suppliers. What starts as a small difference between locations can quickly become a significant management burden when repeated across an entire
estate.
Estate Standardisation helps create a repeatable framework for technology across your portfolio. From networking and connectivity through to security, communications, monitoring, support
processes, and supplier relationships, we help define standards that can be consistently applied across existing sites, refresh programmes, refurbishments, and new openings.
Importantly, standardisation doesn’t mean every site has to be identical. Different properties may have different requirements, but they should operate within a common framework that balances
consistency, flexibility, operational requirements, and commercial objectives.
The result is greater visibility, easier support, improved purchasing power, faster deployments, simpler management, and a more consistent experience for both guests and operational teams across the
estate.
Audit & Compliance Support
Technology audits and compliance reviews can be challenging, particularly when requirements are complex, documentation is incomplete, or recommendations carry
significant cost implications.
Whether driven by hospitality brands, insurers, internal governance requirements, or third-party assessors, audits often raise as many questions as they answer. Organisations
can find themselves faced with lengthy remediation plans, significant investment recommendations, and conflicting advice from multiple suppliers, without the expertise
needed to confidently challenge or validate what they are being told.
Our Audit & Compliance Support services provide independent expertise and practical guidance throughout the process. We help organisations understand what is being
asked, what genuinely requires attention, and which recommendations are necessary, helping separate compliance requirements from unnecessary expenditure.
Importantly, compliance is rarely just about passing an audit. The most effective approach is ensuring technology environments are secure, resilient, supportable, and aligned
with operational requirements long after the assessment has been completed.
Whether preparing for an upcoming audit, responding to recommendations, or seeking an independent opinion on proposed remedial works, we help organisations move
forward with confidence and a clear understanding of their options.
